I am writing in support of Seri Gomberg, whom I have known since September 2000, and for whom I was an immediate supervisor while she worked as a Clinical Informatics Analyst for iKnowMed from September 2000 – September 2001.
During the year or so that I worked with Seri, I was impressed by her abilities. She was able to successfully take-on and complete projects, such as computerizing clinical trial qualification criteria into the iKnowMed electronic medical record, with minimal up front instruction and on-going oversight. Seri made appropriate independent decisions when necessary, yet at the same time functioned effectively as part of the iKnowMed clinical content team. She quickly learned the proprietary iKnowMed clinical content programming language, and also quickly learned how to write XML code to support completion of her projects. During the course of her work, Seri used her creativity to come up with new programming algorithms so that the system could better meet customer needs while benefiting the company by shortening coding time.
In addition to being very pleased by the quality of Seri’s work, I was also impressed by her organizational skills, judgment, and teamwork. While working on projects, Seri was always very organized, being on top of the issues and aware of deadlines, and escalating issues when appropriate. She consistently used good judgment in determining how best to approach the projects she was assigned and how to solve problems she encountered along the way. Seri not only got along well with, and helped transfer knowledge to, other members of the iKnowMed clinical content team, but she also had positive interactions with staff at customer clinics and groups affiliated with the National Cancer Institute.
Based on my experiences with Seri, I can strongly recommend her without reservations. You will find Seri to be a very hard-working and dependable team member who consistently produces high quality work.
Sincerely,
David Sklar, MD, MBA
